BOOK DESIGN
THE TIME MACHINE
by H. G. WELLSStepped into a world of nostalgia and timeless wonder as we unveiled our design for H.G. Wells' classic masterpiece, The Time Machine. Written in 1895, this iconic tale of time travel, human existence, and the fate of our planet had captivated readers for generations.
My design paid homage to the era of its creation, evoking a sense of nostalgia and classic elegance with the use of Bell MT, a serif typeface that echoed the literary tradition of the late 19th century. Through carefully chosen metaphors, I delved into the heart of Wells' themes, incorporating symbols such as the clock to represent the passage of time and DNA to symbolize the essence of human life.
As the narrative unfolded, I journeyed through the evolution of technology and the impact it had on our world, from the humble beginnings of horses to the advent of rockets and airplanes. Yet, amidst this progress lay a warning of the destructive forces unleashed by humanity's quest for advancement. Drawing inspiration from the vastness of space and the ancient myths of Nuwa, I crafted a visual narrative that spoke to the grandeur of the cosmos and the fragile balance of life on Earth. At the heart of it all, the image of the moon changing shape served as a reminder of the fluidity of time and the infinite possibilities of the universe.
